Bridger-Teton National Forest in western Wyoming covers 3.4 million acres, making it the third largest national forest outside Alaska and part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
It stretches from Yellowstone National Park along the eastern boundary of Grand Teton National Park and continues south to the Wind River Range. The forest includes three designated wilderness areas totaling 1.2 million acres and features Wyoming's highest peak, Gannett Peak, at 13,804 feet. It supports diverse wildlife such as elk, moose, bighorn sheep, grizzly and black bears, wolves, and over 355 bird species.
