Park
Chickasaw State Park is a 520-acre roadside park along U.S. Highway 43 in rural Marengo County, Alabama, north of Linden and named for the Chickasaw tribe that once inhabited the area.
It features a stocked lake for fishing bass, catfish, and bluegill, a wading pool or swimming area, moderate hiking trails through woods once containing virgin pine forests, picnic pavilions with grills, a playground, birdwatching for over 120 species on the Alabama Black Belt Birding Trail, and limited camping with three modern RV sites offering water and 30-amp electric plus primitive tent sites and restrooms.
Operated in partnership with Marengo County, it serves primarily as a day-use spot for family gatherings, hunting base near nearby wildlife areas, and nature exploration amid diverse wildlife like deer and squirrels.
