This high-elevation canyon at around 7,800 feet offers world-class fly fishing for trout in the river and tributaries like Clear Creek and Tolby Creek, plus hiking and equestrian trails, quiet tent and RV camping at sites like Ponderosa and Maverick, picnicking, and abundant wildlife viewing for elk, deer, black bears, and birds.
Part of the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway, it delivers dramatic forested scenery, geologic wonders, and year-round recreation including winter cross-country skiing.
