Park
Daroga State Park covers 127 acres of desert scablands along 1.5 miles of the Columbia River shoreline in Chelan County, Washington, about eight miles north of Orondo via Highway 97, offering a sunny oasis formed after Rocky Reach Dam flooded a historic peach orchard owned by the Auvil brothers.
Named from "DA-RO-GA" after David, Robert, and Grady Auvil, it provides camping with 28 RV/tent sites featuring electricity and water, 17 walk-in or boat-in hardshell sites, group areas, two boat launches, docks, a dump station, swimming beaches on calm Lake Entiat, fishing, waterskiing, picnicking, sports courts, a playground, and 2.5 miles of paved shoreline trails through poplars and pines with river views.
Managed by Washington State Parks under a lease with Chelan PUD, it stays open year-round with a Discover Pass required, drawing families for its water sports, birdwatching, and proximity to Desert Canyon Golf Course amid channeled scablands scenery.
