Park
Lake Pueblo State Park is a large Colorado state park of nearly 10,000 acres located just west of the city of Pueblo, built around the 4,600‑acre Pueblo Reservoir on the Arkansas River.
The reservoir was created by Pueblo Dam, completed in 1975, to control flooding, store water for agriculture and cities, and support recreation in the region. The park offers about 60 miles of shoreline and features two full‑service marinas, boat ramps, a swim beach, and extensive camping with hundreds of sites, making it a major hub for boating, waterskiing, sailing, river tubing, and fishing in a relatively mild, low‑altitude setting.
On land, visitors enjoy miles of hiking and biking trails, wildlife viewing, picnicking, and interpretive programs, with views of the Greenhorn and Wet Mountains to the southwest and Pikes Peak to the north, all within easy reach of the southern Front Range.
