Lost Dutchman State Park is a 320-acre park located about 40 miles east of Phoenix, Arizona, at the base of the Superstition Mountains.
Named after the legendary Lost Dutchman gold mine, the park offers numerous hiking trails leading into the Superstition Wilderness and the surrounding Tonto National Forest, including popular routes like the Native Plant Trail and the challenging Siphon Draw Trail to the Flatiron summit.
Visitors can enjoy camping at 134 available sites equipped with picnic tables, fire pits, restrooms, showers, and group use areas. The park features beautiful desert scenery with seasonal wildflowers, diverse native wildlife such as mule deer, javelina, coyotes, and jackrabbits, as well as a new four-mile mountain bike loop trail.
It serves as a peaceful outdoor retreat close to the Phoenix metro area, providing opportunities for hiking, biking, wildlife viewing, and exploring the desert landscape with both easy and challenging trail options.
