The park overlooks this broad impoundment and offers a rustic, wooded setting with minimal amenities, centered around two back‑to‑basics campgrounds that together provide about 99 sites. Visitors can swim in a small lake‑front beach, fish for species such as bass, walleye, and panfish, use a boat launch to access the pond, and enjoy an 18‑hole disc‑golf course.
While the park’s proximity to the Manistee National Forest and nearby trails such as the Dragon Trail and the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail adds extra hiking and biking opportunities in the surrounding countryside.
