Park and Garden
Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre in Colorado is a 738-acre natural geological area where massive red sandstone formations create a dramatic landscape along the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
The park has a rich history, once serving as a sacred gathering place for the Ute people and other Indigenous tribes, before becoming a popular public park in the late 19th century. Its signature feature is the open-air amphitheatre carved into the rock formations, completed in 1941 with the help of the Civilian Conservation Corps, which offers exceptional acoustics and seating surrounded by towering rocks. The amphitheatre has hosted a wide range of performances, from classical music to iconic rock concerts.
Visitors can explore numerous hiking and biking trails, enjoy scenic overlooks, and learn about the area's geological and cultural significance. Red Rocks is also home to the only intact and publicly accessible Civilian Conservation Corps camp, highlighting its connection to New Deal history.
