Settlers Cove State Recreation Site is a 275-acre coastal park at milepost 18 on the North Tongass Highway, 18 miles north of Ketchikan in Southeast Alaska's temperate rainforest along Clover Passage.
It offers 13 wooded campsites for tents and RVs, one public-use cabin, vault toilets, drinking water, picnic shelters, fire rings, and trails like the Lunch Falls Loop to a waterfall, Hollow Cedar Beach Access, and Emery Tobin Lakes for hiking, beachcombing, kayaking, swimming in warm tidal waters, fishing, and wildlife viewing of seabirds and marine life.
Open May through September with no hookups or reservations for sites, it's ideal for family day-use or overnight stays amid old-growth spruce-hemlock forests and scenic coves, following Leave No Trace principles.
