Park
Tilton River State Park is a small, undeveloped 5-acre primitive site in Lewis County, Washington, along Highway 508 near Morton at milepost 27, offering a quick roadside pullout with minimal parking for 2-3 vehicles and no facilities like restrooms or signage.
Donated in 1994 by brothers William and Otto Studhalter, it features a short quarter-mile forested trail through firs, cedars, maples, and ash trees leading to a serene rocky beach on the Tilton River known as the Studhalter Fishing Hole, ideal for picnics, fishing, swimming, and relaxing amid handmade fire pits.
The park remains intentionally rustic without further development plans and may face potential closure or transfer, providing peaceful riverside access near Ike Kinswa State Park and the historic Tilton-Cowlitz confluence now submerged by Mayfield Lake.
