Park
Utahraptor State Park is a newly established Utah state park located about 15 miles northwest of Moab in Grand County, covering roughly 6,500–7,500 acres of rugged desert and badlands. The park centers on the Dalton Wells Quarry, one of the largest dinosaur bone beds in North America, where more than 5,500 fossils from over ten species have been recovered, including the famous Utahraptor, Gastonia, and Moabosaurus. The landscape features dramatic red‑rock canyons, fossil‑rich outcrops, and panoramic views of the La Sal Mountains, and it offers hiking, rock climbing, camping, and a network of about 50 miles of ATV and mountain‑bike trails known as the Sovereign Trail System. The park also includes a visitor center, interpretive exhibits, and programs that connect the area’s paleontological history with Depression‑era and World War II–era sites, making it a unique addition to the Moab–Arches–Canyonlands tourism corridor.
