Park
West Shore Unit of Flathead Lake State Park occupies 129 acres of mature fir, pine, and larch forest on the western shore of Montana's largest natural freshwater lake, located six miles south of Lakeside in Lake County along U.S. Highway 93.
Glacially carved rock outcrops rise to overlooks with stunning views of the lake, rocky shoreline, and distant Swan and Mission mountain ranges, supporting boating from a year-round deep-water launch, fishing, swimming despite the pebbly beach, and wildlife viewing including birds.
The quiet park offers 33 campsites with some electric hookups and tent-only spots up to 40 feet for RVs, 2.5 miles of easy-to-moderate hiking trails, summer kayak and paddleboard rentals, bear-resistant lockers, vault toilets, potable water, and seasonal day-use from mid-March through November.
