Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee, Florida, founded in 1967, is the first drive-through safari park in the United States, offering visitors a unique experience of a “cageless zoo” where they can drive through over 600 acres to see more than 900 animals including lions, white rhinos, chimpanzees, zebras, and giraffes.
Besides the drive-through preserve, the park features Safari World, a walk-through area with exhibits such as giraffe feeding, a petting zoo, aviaries, and amusement rides like a Ferris wheel and merry-go-round. The park also includes educational programs, a veterinary hospital, food outlets, gift shops, and a campground.
