Established in 1973 amid ponderosa pines, junipers, and maples—famed for vibrant fall colors—this quiet park offers 23 developed campsites including some with 30-amp electric hookups, plus group shelters, a visitor center, restrooms, and a dump station. Visitors enjoy 3.5 miles of easy hiking trails for wildlife viewing, birding (including raptors during migration), and photography, with access to longer paths into the adjacent Cibola National Forest and Manzano Mountain Wilderness.
