Park
Maudslay State Park is a roughly 450‑acre park along the Merrimack River in Newburyport, Massachusetts, created on the former Moseley family estate of a 19th‑century investment banker.
The landscape mixes ornamental 19th‑century gardens, rolling meadows, dense woods, and ponds, with one of the largest natural stands of mountain laurel in the state and many azaleas, rhododendrons, and towering white pines. Visitors can walk, bike, or ride horses on about 16 miles of trails, enjoy picnics, and watch wildlife such as bald eagles and other raptors, all while seeing remnants of the old estate like stone bridges, carriage roads, and garden structures, with educational programs offered in the summer.
